MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas — Five men from Dallas were arrested in connection with burglaries in Mount Pleasant over the weekend.
The investigation began around 11:30 p.m. Sunday when Mount Pleasant police received a burglary alarm at B&W Pawn Shop. Officers confronted three suspects leaving the business through a hole they had cut in the back. The suspects dropped merchandise and fled into a nearby neighborhood.
The following suspects were arrested:
Frank Hammond, 35, of Dallas – burglary of a building, engaging in criminal activity, evading, possession of criminal instruments, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance
Decorious Kavontae Morgan, 22, of Dallas – burglary of a building, engaging in criminal activity, evading, possession of criminal instruments
Rodney Dewayne White, 39, of Dallas – burglary of a building, engaging in criminal activity, evading, possession of criminal instruments
Uluas Demarrquez Woodside, 33, of Dallas – burglary of a building, engaging in criminal activity, evading, possession of criminal instruments
Police located White and Woodside in a parked vehicle near 200 South O’Tyson Road, then found Hammond and Morgan at a nearby gas station waiting to be picked up.
The fifth suspect, Tyron Allen, 26, of Dallas, was arrested Monday morning near 300 Bill Ratliff Freeway. He matched the description of one of the B&W Pawn suspects. Further investigation revealed Allen allegedly committed an unreported burglary at Expectant Heart, and items from that burglary were recovered from him.
All five are facing multiple felony charges, and the investigation remains ongoing.
