Keesara police have arrested five individuals in connection with a daylight robbery at a jewellery shop in Nagaram on January 2.
The arrested have been identified as Nazeem Azeez Kotadiya (39), Bishu Karma Ekendar Singh (24), Mohd Saif Ali alias Adnam (23), Rajendar Singh alias Raj Singh (19), and Ratan Singh Bahadur alias Ratan (23).
According to authorities, two suspects initially posed as customers inside the shop, while two others entered armed with an axe and a dummy pistol, attacking the shop owner, Sandeep Gehlot. Despite sustaining a head injury, Gehlot resisted and managed to recover most of the jewellery. The robbers fled on a motorcycle with some gold ornaments.
All five suspects were apprehended following technical analysis and eyewitness accounts. Police confirmed that most of the accused have prior criminal records. A car, a motorcycle, and the dummy pistol used in the robbery were seized as evidence.
