Kalmana police have arrested five members of a family for allegedly killing 22-year-old Ritik Patle, a resident of Parvati Nagar, Kalmana, over a petty argument on Saturday night.

According to the complaint by Tansu Nagpure (23), he, Ritik, and Mustafa alias Golu Isha Ansari (28) went to Juni Mangalwari for drinks. On the way back, a dispute arose between Ritik and Mustafa over money. Mustafa reportedly informed his family about the argument, who allegedly conspired to attack Ritik.

The accused — Isha Ansari (55), Mustafa (28), Lukman (22), Sahil (20), and Salauddin (19) — along with a juvenile, reportedly assaulted Ritik, Tansu, and others using batons, knives, and rods. Ritik’s parents, who tried to intervene, were also attacked.

Critically injured, Ritik was rushed to Mayo Hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Others injured in the attack are undergoing treatment. Police have registered a case under relevant Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections, and the five adults have been arrested.
