A Falls County contractor, Andress Sellman, 33, was arrested again Thursday following an indictment on three new felony theft charges related to a case in Falls County. Sellman, formerly of Satin, remains in Bell County Jail with bonds totaling $300,000.
The recent indictment, returned by a Falls County grand jury on September 16, includes two counts of theft of property valued between $30,000 and $150,000—both state jail felonies—and one count of theft from an elderly person, a second-degree felony.
Authorities allege that Sellman contracted with an elderly woman in December 2023 to build a home near Chilton in Falls County. She reportedly took approximately $130,000 from the client for the project but failed to fulfill her obligations. Additionally, two subcontractors hired for the job claim they were not paid.
Sellman’s latest arrest comes while she was out on bond from previous felony theft charges in McLennan County. The McLennan County case involves theft of over $30,000 but under $150,000 related to a construction project in Mart. The victim had reported that Sellman took four loan advances totaling $63,602 through the victim’s bank account for building materials.
Investigators reviewed Sellman’s financial records and found that much of the stolen funds—approximately $58,948—were used for personal expenses, including clothing, vehicle payments and maintenance, dental care, hair care, and family vacations, rather than for business or construction costs.
Authorities continue to investigate as Sellman faces multiple felony theft charges in connection to these cases.
