Erode South police arrested a hotel employee on Sunday for attempting to break open an ATM at Shastri Nagar in the city.
The accused, Santhosh Kumar (43), hailing from Tiruchi district, was residing in Shastri Nagar while employed at a local hotel. Police said he was found roaming in the area in an inebriated state early Sunday morning, raising suspicion.
Authorities have taken him into custody, and further investigation is underway to determine the extent of his actions and whether any accomplices were involved.
