SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Around 5 a.m. on February 1, Springfield Police responded to a burglary in progress at Studio 420, 651 Linton Ave. Unit 300.
Dispatchers reported that a caller was monitoring live video footage of a male inside the closed business near the cash registers. Officers located and detained Erin D. Jackson, the sole individual inside.
Police said Jackson had entered through the east-side rear door, which he allegedly shattered using a large rock. Officers found three duffel bags inside:
Two bags contained cannabis valued at approximately $1,220.
One bag contained a locked cash register.
One bag had letters with Jackson’s name on them.
Officers observed damage to three glass display cases and the rear door, with estimated repair costs over $500. Jackson reportedly had small cuts on his left hand, likely from breaking the glass without gloves.
Jackson was read his Miranda Rights but declined to make a statement.
