Edwards Clinic Staff Charged in Medicare Botox Fraud

False claims submitted for unsupervised patient visits

by Sophia Bennett

Court documents reveal that staff at Edwards’ clinic allegedly submitted false health care claims to Medicare, Nebraska Medicaid, and Iowa Medicaid by documenting unsupervised patient visits as “nurse” visits.

The staff reportedly used Edwards’ login credentials to make it appear that Edwards personally completed the visits. These fraudulent practices are said to have occurred between 2010 and February 2019.

In addition, documents indicate that the clinic purchased non-FDA-approved, foreign-sourced Botox between 2011 and 2018 and administered it to patients.

Authorities continue to investigate the clinic’s practices and potential legal consequences for staff and Edwards.
