The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), working closely with the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission, have arrested Edmore Nzombe on charges of fraud and extortion.
Nzombe, who is affiliated with the Southern African Regional Anti-Corruption body, is accused of impersonating a police officer to extort money from a member involved in a housing project.
Authorities allege that Nzombe approached the individual under the guise of law enforcement to demand money, leading to his subsequent arrest during a joint operation.
The ZRP and Anti-Corruption Commission continue to investigate the matter, underscoring their commitment to tackling corruption and fraud within the country.
Nzombe’s arrest serves as a stern warning to those who attempt to exploit public trust for personal gain.
