In a breakthrough after several months, the Matigara police in Siliguri successfully solved a bike theft case. The accused, identified as 27-year-old Dipankar Singha from New Rangia Jote, was arrested for stealing a bike in August 2024.

The victim, Subrajit Adhikari, had filed a complaint stating that his bike was stolen while he was shopping near the Shiv Mandir area. After an extensive investigation, police received a tip-off that a youth was seen riding around with a stolen bike in Solakabhita, close to the same area.

Undercover officers promptly investigated the lead, questioning the suspect. Upon verification, it was confirmed that Singha was in possession of the stolen bike. Singha was immediately arrested, bringing closure to the case that had been pending for months.
