Diamonte Evans, Destiny Flory Arrested After Traffic Stop in North Charleston
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – A routine traffic stop in the early hours of Friday morning led to the arrest of Diamonte Evans, 28, of Ridgeville, and Destiny Flory, 25, of Ladson, on multiple charges involving weapons and drugs.
According to North Charleston Police, the vehicle was stopped on Rivers Avenue at 1:02 a.m. for traveling 72 mph in a 45-mph zone. Officers noticed the smell of marijuana coming from inside the car.
Evans admitted to driving with a suspended license and informed officers that Flory and another female passenger were in possession of drugs and firearms.
A search of the vehicle revealed:
16.1 grams of a blue powder-like substance
4.77 grams of mushrooms
1.9 grams of fentanyl
A digital scale
A red Michael Kors handbag
.34 grams of additional blue powder
Evans was charged with possession of a firearm and driving under suspension (first offense). Flory faces charges for drug trafficking and possession of a controlled substance.
Both suspects are currently being held at the Charleston County Jail.
