The DB Marg Police in Mumbai have arrested Nirmam Jogani, a 27-year-old man, for allegedly stealing diamonds, cash, and hard disks from his father’s office located in Opera House. The theft, which involved valuables worth Rs3.05 crore, was reported after Vipul Jogani, a diamond trader and father of the accused, filed a complaint.

The incident took place in the Panchratna Building at Charni Road, where Vipul Jogani, 57, discovered that someone had broken into his office, opened the safe, and made off with two diamond sets, cash, and critical business data stored on hard disks. The stolen valuables include diamonds valued at ₹2.30 crore and ₹70 lakh, ₹5 lakh in cash, and two hard disks containing essential digital information.

Following the complaint, the police began their investigation by scanning CCTV footage from the office and surrounding areas. The footage revealed that the perpetrator was none other than Nirmam Jogani, the son of the complainant. During his interrogation, Nirmam disclosed that there had been ongoing property disputes within the family, as he has an elder brother.

The investigation also uncovered a forgery angle when the police learned that Nirmam Jogani had forged his father’s signature to remove his name from a joint account at Bank of India. Nirmam had made duplicate keys to his father’s office and safe, enabling him to steal the valuables.

As the investigation continues, police are questioning Nirmam about the full scope of the theft and the possibility of further financial or property-related motives behind his actions. The case has been filed under several sections, including theft, house-breaking, and forgery under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
