PENSACOLA, Fla. — Three Pensacola family members are facing serious charges after authorities uncovered their connection to an organized retail theft ring at Cordova Mall.
According to an arrest report, Devon Moore (40), Geanetta Powell (68), and Katina Grimsley (43) are accused of coordinating thefts that targeted multiple stores between March and May 2025. The three are now charged with:
Organized dealing in stolen property
Organized retail theft
Coordinated retail theft over $3,000
Additionally, Moore and Powell face grand theft charges for allegedly stealing merchandise valued between $750 and $5,000.
The investigation began after a March 27 theft at LensCrafters. By June 30, Moore and Powell were identified as suspects in the theft of 14 sunglasses worth $5,495. Police arrested them on July 1, recovering 117 stolen items from Powell’s residence on West Strong Street.
By July 8, investigators had linked all three suspects to a string of thefts at Cordova Mall stores, including Old Navy, Dillard’s, Belk, Carter’s, and Foot Locker. Itemized theft totals included:
Moore: 60 items worth $8,151
Powell: 52 items worth $7,096
Grimsley: 61 items worth $7,146
Powell, Moore’s aunt and Grimsley’s mother, told investigators she stole merchandise to make money, which her daughter Grimsley would sell. Moore admitted he would also sell stolen items for profit, often fulfilling specific product requests from buyers. He typically earned $100–$200 per transaction, stating the money was used to support his family.
Jail records show Moore is being held on a $210,500 bond, and Powell on $203,000. As of now, Grimsley is not in custody, though her most recent arrest on July 8 was for unpaid child support.
