A 38-year-old man from Sirsa, Haryana, identified as Shyam Singh, was arrested by the Delhi police for allegedly defrauding a victim of Rs1.25 lakh by pretending to be a relative in need of urgent medical help.

The scam began when the victim received a call from someone posing as a family member who had been involved in an accident and was hospitalized. The caller manipulated the victim into transferring money quickly, claiming it was for medical expenses. The victim only realized it was a fraud after the money had been sent.

Police teams swiftly traced the caller’s identity to Shyam Singh, and he was arrested. Singh is now in police custody, and the investigation is ongoing to uncover any additional criminal activities or accomplices connected to the scam.
