MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) — A man has been arrested in connection with a November homicide on East Shelby Drive. Delangelo Turner, 20, faces charges of first-degree murder in perpetration of a robbery, aggravated robbery, and aggravated assault.
The incident occurred on November 27, just after 6:55 p.m., when officers responded to a shooting that led to a crash near East Shelby Drive and Faronia Road. Upon arrival, police found a 2016 Nissan Maxima with front-end damage. One victim was discovered at the scene and transported to the hospital in non-critical condition, while two others were taken to the hospital by a private vehicle.
Sadly, one of the victims later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
According to the Memphis Police Department, the shooting occurred on Stacey Road. The victims had arranged to meet a man to trade a weapon but were instead robbed and shot.
Detectives uncovered a connection to another shooting on November 26 on West Mitchell Road. Surveillance video from both locations showed the same suspect vehicle. On December 17, the vehicle was found on East Raines Road, where the man inside was identified as Delangelo Turner.
Turner was arrested and is currently in custody.
