Local police arrested 53-year-old David S. “Razor” Cox of Campbellsville on Saturday, following a bank robbery that took place the previous morning in downtown Campbellsville.
The Campbellsville Police Department issued an arrest warrant for Cox on Friday evening, according to Police Chief Shannon Wilson. Cox was taken into custody and lodged at the Taylor County Detention Center. He faces charges including second-degree robbery, third-degree fleeing or evading police, and tampering with physical evidence.
Authorities have not disclosed the exact amount of money stolen during the robbery, and the investigation continues as some cash remains missing, said Lt. Brian Morgan on Tuesday.
On Friday, the police shared security camera images from inside the Main Street branch of Citizens Bank and Trust, showing Cox inside the lobby and a nearby alleyway. The suspect was initially described as a white male about 6 feet 2 inches tall, wearing a navy blue T-shirt, black shorts, a ball cap, white tennis shoes with black socks, and a mask commonly used during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cox reportedly entered the bank around 9 a.m., approached the teller line, and demanded money. He carried a black bag to collect the cash before fleeing the scene.
The bank temporarily closed after the incident to cooperate with authorities but has since reopened, with Citizens Bank & Trust assuring customers and employees that everyone is safe.
Detective Steven Dobson is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department and Kentucky State Police.
