LEXINGTON PARK, Md. (7News) — Four men from Washington, D.C., were arrested early Sunday morning in connection with a retail burglary in Lexington Park, Maryland, according to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 4:20 a.m. to a commercial burglary alarm at a business on the 21000 block of Great Mills Road. Surveillance footage from the business helped identify the suspects and a getaway vehicle—a Honda sedan.
A short time later, deputies located a car matching the Honda’s description in the Mechanicsville area. When they tried to stop the vehicle, it fled. Deputies deployed a stop stick, causing the vehicle to halt. Several suspects then attempted to escape on foot.
A drone unit was dispatched to assist from above, while ground efforts continued with help from a Charles County K9 team. Multiple suspects were apprehended during the search.
Authorities later confirmed that the suspects’ vehicle had been reported stolen.
Simultaneously, another patrol deputy spotted a speeding silver BMW in Mechanicsville. The car was stopped, and three of the individuals inside were linked to the burglary.
A community tip then led deputies to a silver Nissan Altima on Delabrooke Road, where another suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The four arrested suspects were identified as David Burch (29), Darryl Harrison (22), Ejion Thorton (19), and Javeion White (19). All four face charges including second- and third-degree burglary, theft under $1,500, and property destruction.
They were transported to the Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown and are currently awaiting bond hearings.
