EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) — Two people were arrested Tuesday after a traffic stop on I-69 led to the discovery of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, according to the Madisonville Police Department.
The Traffic Stop
Officers stopped a vehicle traveling southbound on I-69 after noticing the occupants were not wearing seatbelts. As officers approached, both David Beals and Jeanette Davis attempted to exit the vehicle.
Police reported a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. A search of the vehicle and its occupants led to the discovery of:
Methamphetamine
Marijuana
Drug paraphernalia
Arrests & Charges
Both Beals and Davis were arrested and booked into the Hopkins County Jail.
David Beals faces charges of:
Trafficking a Controlled Substance (1st Degree)
Possession of Marijuana
Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possession
No Registration Plates
Jeanette Davis faces charges of:
Trafficking a Controlled Substance (1st Degree)
Possession of Marijuana
Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possession
Failure to Wear Seatbelt
Both remain in custody as the investigation continues.
