DES MOINES, Iowa — Darren Matthew Smith, 18, has been taken into custody, according to an update from the Des Moines Police Department.
Smith was wanted on multiple felony charges, including first-degree theft and third-degree burglary, stemming from a recent investigation involving a stolen vehicle and a separate vehicle burglary.
Police issued a public alert earlier asking for assistance in locating Smith. Authorities have not yet confirmed the specific charges he will face, stating they are still pending as the investigation continues.
