In South Mumbai, the Colaba Police arrested a 43-year-old delivery boy for allegedly molesting an 8-year-old girl in a residential building. An FIR has been registered at Colaba police station under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The complainant, a 35-year-old domestic help residing in Colaba, reported that the incident occurred on October 26 around 7:00 PM. The accused, Imran Mohammad Sherkhan, residing at Cuffe Parade, allegedly approached the girl under the pretext of asking for an address. He is accused of kissing her on the cheek and neck, pinching her lips, and behaving in a manner that outraged her modesty.
The child’s mother immediately informed the police. Acting swiftly, officers traced and arrested Sherkhan from his residence on October 27. The victim was taken to St. George Hospital for a medical examination.
The Colaba Police continue to investigate the case.
