Coimbatore police arrested P. Madhavan, a carpenter from Kamaraj Nagar, on Friday for stealing over 20 sovereigns of gold jewelry from a house in Sundarapuram. Madhavan had been working at the residence of D. Kevin, located in Palaniappa Layout on Madukkarai Road, when he allegedly took the jewellery during his carpentry work.
The theft came to light after Kevin noticed the missing gold and filed a complaint with the police. Following an investigation, Madhavan was taken into custody. Authorities are continuing to probe the case.
