DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – Christopher Alexander Konwai, 29, has been charged with lottery fraud by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) following an investigation that began in November 2024. The charges stem from Konwai’s actions at Krishna of Summerville Inc., a gas station located on Dorchester Road.

On November 9 and 10, Konwai allegedly tampered with South Carolina Education Lottery tickets. According to the affidavit, Konwai intentionally scratched off tickets to check if they were winners. Afterward, he would place the tickets back into the dispenser to be sold to unsuspecting customers.

Surveillance cameras captured the incident, and the footage helped identify Konwai, leading to his arrest. He was charged with attempting to influence a game by coercion and tampering with lottery tickets.

Konwai was booked into the Dorchester County Detention Center.
