Chintu Sethy, Deepak & Akash Held in Odisha Theft Case

Ganjam Police Recover Rs 35 Lakh Loot from Burglars

Odisha Police in Ganjam district have arrested three burglars linked to five theft cases, recovering looted items worth over Rs 35 lakh. The accused have been identified as Chintu Sethy (28), the prime suspect, Deepak Kumar Pattanaik (33), and Akash Kumar Behera (32), all residents of Berhampur.

Authorities said the trio was involved in two cases registered at Berhampur Town Police Station and three at Nimakhandi Police Station. Seized items include Rs 8.50 lakh in cash, 182.16 grams of gold, 296 grams of silver, and a scooter, collectively valued at more than Rs 35 lakh, according to Berhampur SP Saravana Vivek M.

Police investigations revealed that the burglars targeted houses in Berhampur and nearby areas during late-night hours. They identified locked homes and forcibly broke in to steal cash, gold, silver, and other valuables. Following a review of CCTV footage, the trio was apprehended on Saturday, bringing relief to the local community.
