Upon inspection, Jyoti discovered two sovereigns of gold coins and Rs 1.5 lakh in cash were missing from an almirah. She immediately filed a complaint with Tiruchengode rural police.
During a patrol in the Kumaramangalam area on Wednesday evening, police stopped two men riding a scooter and questioned them. This led to the arrest of Matheswaran and Harish, and recovery of the stolen gold and cash.
