JACKSONVILLE, Ala. — Jacksonville police have arrested Brandon Dandridge, 24, of Talladega, in connection with a Christmas Eve shootout that injured four people, according to Police Chief Marcus Wood.
Dandridge was taken into custody Wednesday evening and charged with second-degree assault, a Class C felony. He is being held on a $20,000 bond, and his initial court appearance is scheduled for January 29.
The incident occurred last week at a Christmas party in the community room of Hickory Run Apartments, where Dandridge was identified as one of the shooters and was also injured.
Chief Wood said, “We believe this is the first arrest of many. Investigators have been working nonstop since this happened and will continue until we obtain warrants for all other shooters involved.”
He also thanked the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office and the Talladega County Drug Task Force for assisting in locating Dandridge, noting that suspects may reside outside Jacksonville and even outside Calhoun County. “We’ll go wherever we need to find them and put a stop to this kind of activity,” Wood added.
