The Baiyyappanahalli Railway Police have arrested two habitual offenders for allegedly stealing valuables from a train passenger after sedating him with sleeping pills.
The accused, Safar and Sataram, both residents of Bihar, are currently under police interrogation to determine their involvement in similar crimes. Authorities suspect the duo may have targeted other passengers using the same method.
Railway police have warned travelers to remain cautious of strangers offering food, drinks, or medications while on board trains, as drugging passengers for theft has become a growing concern.
Investigations are ongoing, and police are coordinating with other jurisdictions in Bihar and Karnataka to track any previous offenses committed by the accused.
