Bengaluru Residents Arrested for Abusing Neighbour Torturing Stray Dogs

Five accused booked for cruelty and threats over feeding stray dogs

The Parappana Agrahara Police in Bengaluru have registered an FIR against five residents of an apartment in Choodasandra for allegedly verbally abusing and threatening their neighbour for feeding stray dogs on Wednesday. The accused also reportedly beat the dogs before chasing them away.

The victim, Neha Parveen, filed a complaint leading to police action against the accused—Salim, Sudha, Kavitha, Aminul Rahman, and Vinod. They have been charged under various sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, as well as under wrongful restraint, criminal intimidation, killing or maiming an animal, and intentional insult to provoke breach of peace of the Bangalore North Suburban (BNS) police station on Thursday. Investigations are ongoing.
