Bathinda police have arrested three men from Bihar in connection with the death of Jaspal Singh, a resident of Kot Shamir village, officials confirmed on Wednesday. The victim and the accused were reportedly working together at a cotton factory near the village.
Bathinda DSP Harwinder Singh Srta stated that Harchet Singh, Jaspal’s father, filed a complaint alleging that three men — Pawan Kumar, Om Parkash, and Sumit — had assaulted his son over a dispute at the factory. Jaspal reportedly succumbed to his injuries following the attack.
Following initial investigations, authorities registered a case under sections 103 (murder) and 3(5) (acts done by several persons in furtherance of a common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The three accused were taken into custody on Wednesday.
Police continue to investigate the incident to determine the full circumstances of the crime and any further involvement.
