In a major crackdown against drug trafficking, Baramulla Police have arrested two drug peddlers and seized a significant quantity of Charas from their possession. The arrests were made by a police party from Police Post Mirgund, led by IC PP Mirgund, during a routine checkpoint operation at Check Raza Khan.
The intercepted vehicle, an Alto car bearing the registration number JK01V-3940, was occupied by Parvaiz Ahmad Shah, son of Abdul Ahad Shah, a resident of Lolab Kupwara, currently residing at Rambailgarh, and Khushboo Jan, daughter of Bashir Ahmad Parray, also from Rambailgarh. During a thorough search, the police recovered 794 grams of Charas-like powder from Parvaiz Ahmad Shah’s possession and 352 grams from Khushboo Jan.
Both individuals have been arrested, and the vehicle used in the commission of the crime has also been seized by the authorities. A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the law at Police Station Pattan, and further investigations are underway to uncover the full extent of the drug network.

The authorities reassured the public that strict action will be taken against criminals involved in such illegal activities to ensure a safer and drug-free society.
