Bandipora Police have swiftly solved a theft case by arresting an individual involved in the crime within just 8 hours of the complaint being filed.
The case began when Nazir Ahmad Mir, a shopkeeper from Bandipora Ward No. 4, reported that thieves had broken into his copper shop at Gulshan Chowk and stolen approximately Rs170,000. A case (FIR No. 51/25) was registered at Police Station Bandipora, and an investigation was immediately launched.
Using a combination of technical and human intelligence, the police team traced the accused to Bemina, Srinagar. The suspect, Imran Ahmad Sofi, son of Gh Nabi Sofi, a resident of Rak Arath Dal Colony, Bemina, was arrested. Upon interrogation, Sofi led the authorities to Rs149,500 in stolen cash, which was recovered from his possession.
In addition to the cash, a vehicle (registration number JK05B-8805) used in the commission of the crime was also seized by the police. The swift action by the Bandipora Police ensured that the theft case was resolved in record time, bringing the criminal to justice and recovering a substantial portion of the stolen money.
