The Lohian Khas police have arrested a shopkeeper, Balwindar Kumar of Ward No. 9, for engaging in illegal gambling activities. Police said Kumar was caught selling lottery tickets without authorization from his shop, in violation of gambling laws.
Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid and recovered evidence of unauthorized lottery sales. Following this, a case was registered against Kumar under relevant sections of the Gambling Act.
Officials emphasized that illegal gambling operations, including unlicensed lottery schemes, are under strict surveillance, and offenders will face legal action.
