Badarpur police have apprehended a man identified as S.M. Jubel Ahmed, who was posing as an anti-corruption officer in the region. The arrest comes amid growing concerns over impersonation scams, following recent cases involving fake doctors and police personnel.
Ahmed, a resident of the Bhanga area, reportedly traveled through various locations in Badarpur, presenting himself as an anti-corruption official to deceive locals. To lend credibility to his false claims, he used an Alto car adorned with an anti-corruption monogram and a fake number plate.
The police launched a special operation based on a tip-off and caught Ahmed during a raid. Authorities recovered a fake identity card, a mobile phone, and several suspicious documents from his possession.
The incident has sparked fear among residents, with officials suspecting a larger network behind these fraudulent activities. A case has been registered against Ahmed, and investigations are ongoing to uncover further connections.
