Avery Artis, 50, of Greensboro, was arrested Thursday night following a domestic disturbance, authorities said.
The Greensboro Police Department reported that Artis faces several charges, including assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, assault by strangulation, discharging a firearm within city limits, false imprisonment, and misdemeanor domestic violence.
Police responded to a home around 10:30 p.m. on January 1 after a caller reported that a man had fired a gun at a woman. Officers said Artis surrendered without incident upon their arrival. The woman sustained minor injuries. Artis is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
