An Asheville man was arrested for armed robbery on Monday after allegedly stealing a cinnamon bun from a grocery store while wielding a machete. Jeffrey Dewayne Bradburn, 33, faces charges of armed robbery, shoplifting, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Asheville Police Department.

The incident unfolded around 5:30 p.m. when officers responded to reports of a robbery at the store. A store employee told police that Bradburn had stolen a cinnamon bun and incense. When confronted, he reportedly brandished a machete and fled the scene on foot.

Police began canvassing the area and soon located a man who matched the description of the suspect. When they found him, he was eating the stolen cinnamon bun. Bradburn was arrested and taken to the Buncombe County Detention Facility, where he was held on a $50,000 bond.
