Arunachal Police Head Constable Ronal Leya Arrested in Drug Case

Heroin and cannabis seized from four accused in West Siang

Arunachal Pradesh police have arrested four individuals, including head constable Ronal Leya, following a drug seizure in West Siang district. Authorities recovered heroin worth over Rs 50,000 from two suspects in Banderdewa on Sunday.

A case under the NDPS Act was registered, leading to the arrests. Acting on a tip-off, police raided Leya’s residence in Aalo, seizing 6.44 grams of cannabis (ganja) valued at approximately Rs 12,000. Leya has been taken into custody, and investigations under the NDPS Act are ongoing.

In a separate operation in West Siang, police seized 12.26 grams of heroin worth Rs 77,000 from another residence, resulting in the arrest of the individual involved. The authorities are continuing their probe into the drug network.
