In a significant operation, the Naharlagun Police arrested Aamir Ali, a major drug supplier from Assam, who is linked to a narcotics case registered at the Naharlagun Police Station. The arrest follows a joint effort between the Arunachal Pradesh Police and Assam Police, based on crucial inputs gathered during the interrogation of two earlier suspects.
The operation unfolded on Monday when police conducted a raid at Brahmaputra Nagar, near the Dikrong Riverbank in Assam, where Ali was apprehended. During the raid, authorities successfully seized 20 vials of heroin, weighing approximately 27.9 grams.
The raid was led by Naharlagun Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Inspector Krishnendu Dev, alongside Sub-Inspectors Vivek Linggi and T. Sarke, and other law enforcement personnel. The Assam Police provided critical support during the operation, which resulted in the capture of a major drug supplier in the region.
In connection with this case, two other co-accused, Techi Lez and Tana Jamja, were arrested the day prior, further highlighting the success of the ongoing investigation.
Authorities are continuing to probe the broader narcotics network that Ali was allegedly connected to, with more arrests expected as the investigation deepens.
