New Bern, NC — A 26-year-old man is facing serious drug trafficking charges after authorities discovered a large stash of narcotics and a firearm during a probation search in Craven County.
Antonio Kajuan Shockley, of New Bern, was arrested on Thursday after officers seized nearly 50 grams of methamphetamine, over 20 grams of opioids, marijuana, cash, and a firearm from his residence at 102 Albacore Lane, Lot 1.
The operation was conducted by the Craven County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Bureau, with assistance from the N.C. Department of Public Safety Probation and Parole. The bust was aided by K-9 Tia, who located the illegal drugs inside the home.
Shockley now faces a series of felony charges, including:
Trafficking methamphetamine by possession
Trafficking opioids by possession
Two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance
Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
Possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance
Possession of drug paraphernalia
At the time of his arrest, Shockley was already on probation for prior felony drug and firearm offenses, officials confirmed.
He is currently being held at the Craven County Jail on a $985,000 secured bond.
