A disturbing case of betrayal and murder emerged from Atardaria village where police arrested a woman, Anita Devi, and her alleged lover, Dilip Chauhan, for the brutal killing of her husband, Anil Chauhan.
The case unfolded after Anil Chauhan went missing on Tuesday. Following a complaint by his mother, local authorities launched an investigation. His body was later discovered beneath the Chakni bridge, bearing injury marks on the neck, indicating a violent death.
Superintendent of Police Omvir Singh confirmed the arrests and revealed that Anita Devi and Dilip Chauhan were allegedly involved in an extramarital affair, which is believed to have been the motive behind the murder.
Police recovered the murder weapon — a knife — and registered a case under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is ongoing, and legal proceedings have been initiated against both accused.
