RIVIERA MAYA, Q.R. — Authorities arrested a 38-year-old American man, Juan “N,” at a Riviera Maya hotel in Playa del Carmen on Friday after reports of domestic violence.
Police responded to a 911 call about an aggressive individual at a hotel located along the Playa del Carmen–Puerto Morelos highway. At the scene, the victim stated that her partner had physically and verbally assaulted both her and her minor daughter inside their hotel room.
Specialized officers from the family violence unit (GEAVIG) attended the scene and provided immediate medical attention to the victims.
Juan “N” was taken into custody and transferred to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for further investigation.
In a separate incident, another hotel guest, identified as 43-year-old Yah “N,” was arrested for allegedly punching a fellow guest in the face while intoxicated, causing an injury to the victim’s left eye.
