DES MOINES, Iowa — A Des Moines woman has been charged following a high-speed chase through the city Thursday afternoon.
Police say Amber White sped past a patrol vehicle and weaved through traffic along Euclid Avenue near East 8th Street. When authorities attempted to initiate a traffic stop, White continued driving at high speeds.
The pursuit ended in the Beaverdale neighborhood near 36th Street and Urbandale Avenue after White lost control of her vehicle and blew out a tire.
After taking White into custody, officers reportedly discovered bottles of alcohol inside the car. She is facing multiple charges, including eluding, operating while intoxicated, and various traffic violations.
