GLASGOW, Ky. — A Barren County man has been arrested after deputies discovered a stolen tractor on the property where he was living, according to the Barren County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities said Alex Chase was taken into custody Friday after deputies spotted a tractor on his property that matched one stolen from a local farm the previous day.
Deputies initially responded to a farm on Harry King Road following reports of a missing tractor and side-by-side vehicle. Surveillance footage allegedly showed Chase entering the farm around 6 a.m. Thursday and driving off with the tractor, before returning about an hour later to take the side-by-side.
The farm’s owner identified Chase as the suspect in the video, according to the arrest citation. Deputies later located the tractor “in view in the fence line” on Chase’s property, though the side-by-side remains missing.
When questioned, Chase denied involvement in the theft. He was arrested and booked into the Barren County Detention Center.
