Alejandro Leal Arrested in Reedsburg Vehicle Theft Spree

10 reports lead to arrest and drug-related charges

REEDSBURG, Wis. – Alejandro Leal, a 45-year-old Reedsburg resident, has been arrested in connection with multiple vehicle thefts, according to the Reedsburg Police Department.

Police say reports of theft and attempted theft from parked vehicles began on October 8, with a total of 10 incidents reported by local residents.

The spree continued until October 21, when officers caught Leal attempting to enter another vehicle around 11:30 p.m. He was immediately taken into custody.

Following the arrest, Reedsburg authorities executed a search warrant at Leal’s home on October 23. Officers recovered stolen property as well as items related to drug use.

Leal now faces nine counts of theft, obstructing an officer, possession of THC, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His charges have been forwarded to the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office.
