In a rapid breakthrough, the Ahmedabad Rural Local Crime Branch (LCB) arrested Bhole Lalman Kol, a 47-year-old man, for the brutal double murder of two women near Chancharawadi Vasana village in Sanand taluka. The shocking crime occurred on April 14, when the bodies of Jatanben Manjibhai Solanki and Sonben Khushalbhai Solanki were found in a pasture near the Patiya area. Both victims, residents of Matoda village, had suffered severe facial injuries, suggesting they had been attacked with a heavy object. A case was promptly filed at Changodar police station under BNS Section 103(1).
Due to the gravity of the crime, multiple law enforcement teams, including the LCB, Special Operations Group (SOG), Changodar police, and forensic experts, were mobilized for the investigation. They reviewed CCTV footage from the area, tracked vehicle movements, and interviewed individuals who had been in the vicinity around the time of the murders. Security guards, industrial workers, and local residents from Matoda and Chancharawadi Vasana were also questioned.
After intense ground-level inquiries and technical surveillance, the LCB identified Bhole Kol, a native of Pratappur village in Madhya Pradesh, as the primary suspect. Kol, who had been residing on rent in Chancharawadi Vasana, fled to his hometown shortly after the murders. The police team tracked him down to Madhya Pradesh, where he was arrested and brought back to Ahmedabad for questioning. During interrogation, Kol confessed to killing the two women by striking them with a stone.
According to the police, Kol knew the victims personally. On the day of the crime, Kol allegedly approached one of the women with a request for sexual favors. After she rejected him and struck him with a stone, Kol became enraged, attacked, and killed her. The second woman, who witnessed the murder, attempted to flee toward the village for help but was chased and killed by Kol.
The LCB continues to corroborate Kol’s confession with other evidence as the investigation progresses. Kol is currently in custody at Changodar police station.
