Authorities in Hat Yai, Songkhla, have arrested six suspects in connection with a large-scale theft operation targeting train containers. The suspects—Jaroen, Prasith, Mongkol, Worinthorn, Suchart, and Piyapong—are accused of stealing over 60 crates of beer, totaling 7,560 boxes and causing losses exceeding 4 million baht.

The theft occurred on November 27, 2025, at approximately 10:00 AM near Station 2 in Hat Yai. The suspects reportedly used cutting tools to break into the containers, which were transporting beer. Images of the break-in quickly circulated online, prompting Southern Police Region 9 Commander Pol Lt Gen Piyawat Chalermsri to order an immediate investigation. Local police, along with Hat Yai and Songkhla forces, quickly launched operations to apprehend the suspects.

Upon arrest, the six suspects confessed and revealed the involvement of additional individuals, who remain at large. Authorities have charged the suspects under criminal conspiracy law, including theft during a flood emergency and damaging protective barriers securing the property.

The investigation is ongoing, with police aiming to capture all remaining suspects. This incident underscores the rising challenge of criminal activity in flood-affected areas, where vulnerability can lead to increased theft and violence.
