A Toronto woman has been arrested in connection with the theft of more than $30,000 worth of designer sunglasses from a LensCrafters store in the Shops at Pickering City Centre. Two additional suspects remain at large.

The incident occurred on September 29 around 8:20 p.m., when three female suspects entered the store at 1355 Kingston Road and stole over 60 pairs of high-end sunglasses before fleeing.

Following an investigation, Durham Regional Police’s West Division Criminal Investigations Branch identified two of the suspects. On October 26, officers executed a search warrant at a home near Dundas Street West and Scarlett Road in Toronto, where more than $25,000 worth of stolen merchandise was recovered.

On November 23, officers arrested one of the identified suspects, 33-year-old Carolyn Vanessa Walker of Toronto, without incident. She has been charged with Theft Over $5000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000. Walker appeared in court for a bail hearing.

A 17-year-old girl from Mississauga is still wanted on the same charges. A third female suspect has not yet been identified. Police urge the remaining suspects to seek legal counsel and surrender, warning that anyone assisting them in avoiding arrest may also face criminal charges.
