Coimbatore Men Arrested for Stealing 27 Goats

Coimbatore police arrested two men involved in stealing 27 goats across Punjai Puliyampatti and Bhavanisagar on Friday, August 22, 2025.

Authorities acted after receiving multiple complaints of goat theft in the region. Following increased patrolling and a review of over 100 CCTV cameras, the police apprehended P. Ganeshamoorthi (35) of Kumarapuram, Mettupalayam, and S. Ramesh Kumar (24) of Tankmedu, Mettupalayam.

Interrogation revealed the duo had stolen 13 goats from Punjai Puliyampatti and 14 from Bhavanisagar. The authorities also seized a two-wheeler used to transport the stolen livestock. Both accused were presented in court and remanded to prison.
