SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — On November 3 at 4:50 a.m., Springfield police responded to a vehicle theft report at 4660 Ash Grove Drive. The caller reported seeing a black older-model truck driving away with his blue 2025 Yamaha motorcycle.

While en route, an officer spotted the truck traveling east on Wabash with the motorcycle in its bed. Police stopped the vehicle at Wabash and Drawbridge, detaining the driver, 31-year-old Reiland Bryant, and a passenger.

The caller was brought to the recovery location and noted that the motorcycle had sustained over $500 in damage.

During the investigation, officers discovered that Bryant had an out-of-state warrant. He was charged with motor vehicle theft over $500 but under $10,000, and criminal damage to property over $500 but under $10,000.
