The police apprehended a 34-year-old man named Vigneshwar, who allegedly snatched a gold chain from a woman walking along ITI Road in Mettupalayam. Vigneshwar, a resident of Subramaniasiva Nagar in Villianur, was found in possession of the stolen gold chain, which weighed six sovereigns. Authorities successfully recovered the chain during the arrest.
