3 Men Arrested for Armed Theft of Cattle in Shirlalu Village

Ajekar Police Recover Weapons, Vehicles in Cattle Theft Case

Ajekar police have apprehended three men for allegedly threatening a woman with deadly weapons and stealing three cattle from her shed in Shirlalu village.

The accused have been identified as Mohammad Younis alias Younis (31) of Borkatte, Mohammad Naseer alias Naseer (28) of Kallabettu, Moodbidri, and Mohammad Iqbal alias Ikku (29) of Handele, Moodbidri.

On September 28, the trio reportedly entered the cattle shed of Jayashree, a resident of Shirlalu, threatened her with weapons, and stole three cows valued at around Rs35,000. Following her complaint, the Ajekar police registered a case under the Indian Arms Act and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

During the investigation, police recovered property worth Rs5.87 lakh, including two swords allegedly used in the crime, a Swift car, a Mahindra Bolero, and five mobile phones utilized during the theft.

The probe was supervised by Dr. Harsha Priyamvada, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Karkala Sub-Division, and led by PSI Manjappa D. R. of Ajekar Police Station, with support from PSI Mahesh T. M. and other officers.
