DEAL, NJ – Authorities have arrested a 39-year-old Asbury Park man, Kyle Costello, in connection with a break-in at Deal Elementary School, during which an electric scooter was stolen.
The incident occurred on the evening of August 10, when Costello allegedly entered the school through a window. According to the Deal Police Department, he removed an electric scooter from the premises before fleeing. The stolen property was later recovered.
Costello was taken into custody on August 12 and charged with burglary, theft, trespassing, and narcotics offenses. He is currently being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution.
The Deal Police Department credited Neptune and Wall Township police for their assistance in the investigation.
