Bizinapally Police have arrested Battula Mallesh, a resident of Nagarkurnool town, for repeatedly targeting locked houses in thefts over the past year. Police Inspector Ashok Reddy revealed the details on Sunday.
Mallesh, addicted to alcohol and a lavish lifestyle, confessed during interrogation that he committed thefts in five houses after being caught during an inspection based on a complaint by Venkataiah of Palem village.
The accused admitted to selling part of the stolen property to support his spending habits on drinking and parties. Police recovered seven tolas of gold, 70 tolas of silver, and a mobile phone from his possession.
Mallesh is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
